LASIK

This refractive surgery (laser in-situ keratomileusis) procedure permanently changes the shape of the cornea.  This procedure creates a small corneal flap on the surface of the cornea.  When this "hinged" flap is folded back, a small area of the cornea is exposed.  The excimer laser is applied, sculpting the tissue and reshaping the corneal tissue.  The flap is replaced and bonds without the need for stitches.
