What to expect with laser correction
What to Expect: The Steps to "Losing the Glasses"
1. Contact us for your Complimentary Screening.
2. At your Screening - learn the details, ask questions, find out if you are a candidate for laser vision correction. Your screening with our Refractive Coordinator takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. We enjoy taking the time to talk with you and answer your questions during this personal screening.
3. Then schedule your comprehensive examination with Dr. Birchansky. This very thorough exam takes approximately 2 1/2 hours. There will be a series of tests performed on your eyes to evaluate your vision and your eyes will be dilated. Dr. Birchansky will discuss with you the options for surgery to achieve your ideal vision.
- Contact lenses can affect the shape of your eyes. It is important to have your eyes in their natural state before this appointment. If you wear soft contact lenses, you should be out of them for 2 weeks, toric contacts should be out for 3 weeks and gas permeable/hard contact lenses should be out for 4 week prior to your exam.
Some of our patients travel a distance to Fox Eye, we may be able to accommodate for this travel by combining the screening and examination on the same day. Please ask if this applies in your situation.
4. Treatment Day - Dr. Birchansky is dedicated to providing you with the most advanced treatment options and technology available for your surgery to help you "Lose the Glasses".
